DAWOOD AL BRITAANI
Born and brought up as a Christian in Britain, he started his job in a Computer Company. One morning he came to work wearing Islamic dress. Upon being asked why he was wearing this dress he informed his work colleagues that he had converted to Islam. One week later he was fired from his job and went to Bosnia with two other brothers. Four months later, his brothers were returning to Britain for a few months and they asked him to come with them. He refused, saying, “What is there for me to do in the land of disbelievers?” He was a very calm and quiet brother, funny at the same time. He loved guarding his brothers on the mountain in snow and cold weather. A very fast learner of Islam and the Arabic language, he loved to keep all the Sunnahs of the Messenger of Allah (SAW). He used to sleep on his right-hand side in a crouched position, he used pray all night and fast most days.
Commander Abul-Harith (RA) said about him, “All of us knew that Dawood would be the next Shaheed from amongst us, as he was getting higher and higher and higher in his Iman and Taqwa.” The night before the Operation, Dawood had a dream, in which he saw himself running in a place with large palaces on either side. He asked, “Who do these palaces belong to?” It was said to him, “These are the houses of the Shuhadaa.” He asked, “Where is the house of Abu Ibrahim?” (the Turkish brother from Britain who was shot dead by the French United Nations near Sarajevo Airport). The voice said to him, “The house of Abu Ibrahim is over there.” And so in the dream Dawood began to run towards the house of his friend, Abu Ibrahim, and then suddenly he fell down and woke from his sleep.
The following morning there was a large operation against the Croats. During this operation, while he was running, he was killed by a single shot to the heart. He fell down and his body rolled down to the Croat bunkers below. After three months his body was returned to the Mujahideen. It was as new, it was bleeding and smelling of musk. His body was found crouched on its right-hand side, just how he used to lie down to sleep. Praise be to Allah for those that value the deen more than those born in it. May Allah make us follow in the footsteps of our brother Dawood AR and make him fly in the hearts of the green birds of Jannatul Firdaus- Ameen.

Young man; I want to come with you to the frontlines Umair sir. I have left my country only because I want to take part in this Jihad
Umair; Eat this please
Young man; What? Hell no, it fell on the floor
Umair; You can clean it and eat it, its a sunnah, don’t waste my brother
Young man; It’s just a sunnah, not as if I’m doing something haram
Umair; (angry)Just a sunnah?? Just? Wal iyaazu billah! That person who Allah loved the most, for whom the whole world was created, whose every action has benefit in it, that Nabi who worried about you and I till the last breath, you dismiss his actions?? You are not ready for Jihad
Ibn Saariyah RA said “the Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) led us in prayer one day, then he turned to us and exhorted us strongly . . . (he said), ‘Pay attention to my sunnah (way) and the way of the Rightly-guided Khaleefahs after me, adhere to it and hold fast to it.’
Young man; But but… I gym everyday, I’m super fit! I ran 5 comrades. I hold 3 gold medals in my rifle club
Umair; My brother… physical preparation is the last priority in preparing for Jihad. First is building your relationship with Allah and Nabi SAW, love what they love,
Young man; So you want me to be perfect first? No one will go in Jihad if they had to wait for that
Umair; Not perfect ,just the fardh must become like the heart without which you cannot live and the sunnah must become essential to you as breathing… the fastest way to Allah is via the actions of RasulAllah SAW. Let me tell you a story that happened while we were with Moulana Arsalan …
A sunnah is something Nabi SAW said, did or liked.
Whoever revives a sunnah in the time of fitnah gets the reward of a 100 martyrs.
Whoever clings to the sunnah, indeed latches on to the love of Allah and Nabi SAW
And whoever has the love of Allah and Nabi SAW, has everything he needs.
